J. Christopher Freeman, OD, FAAO

Dr. J. Christopher Freeman received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Missouri State University. He then attended The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors. Dr. Freeman was awarded a post-doctoral fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Hunkeler Eye Centers in Kansas City, Missouri in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  

Dr. Freeman is Clinical Director at TLC Laser Eye Centers in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he coordinates the optometric co-management and education programs for the center, including the optometric residency program.  Before accepting his current position, he held the faculty position of Instructor of Ophthalmology at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and has served as Director of Optometry & Clinical Research at the foremost laser vision correction center in Austin, Texas, and earlier, Chief of Optometry & Director of Refractive Surgery at a renowned ophthalmology practice in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Freeman also serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Optometry at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry.

Dr. Freeman has been invited to speak at national meetings and symposia about vision correction surgery, ocular disease, and new technology. He is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP), Texas Optometric Association (TOA), and is an initial member of the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology (OCRT), for which he serves as co-director of membership. He is past President of the Central Texas Optometric Society (CTOS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).
